Commissioning your portrait or that of a loved one is a special and profound experience, but it does not need to be time-consuming - gone are the days of endless sessions 'sitting for the painter'. My style is to be efficient with your time and sensitive to your requirements while observing and recording my impressions.
I can work from life in the studio or at your home -- but I am equally happy to work from your favourite photos, as well as those taken by myself in a brief session, arranged at the subject’s convenience. The process is simple and collaborative: after the photo session and an initial discussion of the style, composition, size and detail, I create sketches for your approval on paper. I then start working on a canvas. Normally, I aim to complete the portrait within 6-10 weeks.
